Character Interview for The Duchess Quest
2 DecToday I’m hosting a character interview for the book tour for “The Duchess Quest”, a fantasy / romance novel. I’m interviewing Jon Cosmith, one of the characters in the book.
Character Interview
Ah, story. Aye, it’s recently been brought to my attention that, of all tales in which to be featured, mine is called The Duchess Quest. Truly? Could the author not have bestowed a more masculine-sounding title for the likes of me? Alas… To answer your question, pet, as I’ve no doubt you’re intensely curious about me, my role is to pursue the lovely Duchess Eludaine (among the other insufferable imbeciles competing for her hand), and secure the gold – er, I mean, the darling girl – for my very own.
I’d not call them hobbies so much as skills, my dear. For example, you may not realize exactly how much practice is involved to perfect the art of taking things undetected. That’s stealing, you challenge me? Well then, answer me this: is taking from an utter fool, who neither notices nor deserves what’s missing, really stealing?
Ha! I daresay, my little interrogator, but you amuse me to no end. To put it bluntly, darling, nothing challenges me. I am the challenge.
Oh, I need not wish for anything, my sweet. Whatever I desire, believe me, I obtain. Anything is possible. It’s only a matter of time and strategy.

Personal Biography of Kathy Vassilakis
Kathy Vassilakis used to work in the corporate world. She majored in accounting from Brooklyn College and followed her dream to work in corporate accounting for 15 years until she became a mom.
Being a mom was her dream all along and she left accounting to raise her beautiful daughter Sophia. She’s been writing stories for her daughter for quiet some time and decided to write her first children’s book of many to come I Woof You From The Bottom Of My Heart.
The idea to write this book came from my daughter and my dog. This book was written to show children how special a bond and friendship they can have with their dog. Dog’s are wonderful pets and love us unconditionally. They will protect and love us no matter what. Children deserve to learn that at a very young age and grow to love all animals. Compassion for animals is intimately connected with goodness of character.
Growing Up
I grew up in Brooklyn NY. I was the second child out of two. I have one sister named Joanne and always had animals. We had many dogs throughout my childhood from Pomeranians to Chows. I also had ducks, roosters, chickens, bunnies and many more animals. I was and still am a huge animal lover.
My love of books started when my mother used to read wonderful stories to my sister and me every night. She always tried to teach us both languages Greek and English. My parents were born and raised in Greece so Greek was their first language. Most of the stories she read to us were in Greek but that started my love for reading and writing. I learned both languages and am now fluent in writing and reading Greek which I am very proud of.
Family
I’ve been married now for five years and have one beautiful daughter. My daughter Sophia is 17 months old and she is my whole world. I also have a Japanese Chin named Bella. My husband, Greg, has always supported and believed in me, and my family will always be my inspiration.
Creating I Woof You From The Bottom Of My Heart
I have spent twenty years writing stories and brainstorming ideas for children’s books with my family. I came up with the characters Sophia and Bella after my own family. I was inspired by my daughter and the relationship she has with Bella and created I Woof You From The Bottom Of My Heart to teach children ho special a bond they can have with their dogs.
Compassion for animals is greatly connected to goodness of character this is the motto of the book. All animals deserve to be loved, respected, and treated right.
After a lot of hard work and many sleepless nights, I was finally able to publish my first book: I Woof You From The Bottom Of My Heart. To me, finally seeing my book in print and being able to share it with the public has made all the late nights and long hours worthwhile.

About the Authors
Donna: Donna is a longtime book lover and sometime book reviewer and has devoured books from an early age. She writes short (or long) stories as and when inspiration hits and is married to fantasy author David M. Brown (Fezariu’s Epiphany, A World Apart). She was also co-contributor to David’s book, Man vs Cat, a humorous look at life with six rambunctious rescue cats.
Donna has lived in many different areas of the UK over the last 30-something years but has remained in Yorkshire for the past decade. She ardently disputes the misnomer that ‘It’s grim up north’. David: David Brown could be considered a fantasy fanatic, especially since he has spent the last 10 years developing a 47,000-year history for his fictional world of Elenchera. When converting his obsession into literary form, David commits himself to a rigorous writing and editing process before his work can meet his approval. Combined with the critical eye of his wife and a BA Hons in History and English, David’s dedication leads him to his goal of inspiring readers through heartfelt stories and characters.
Although David is inspired primarily by fantasy fiction, he also finds his muse in the form of anime, world cinema, history, and biographies. His own books, Fezariu’s Epiphany and A World Apart, combine aspects from worlds both old and new into compelling tales of a world not soon forgotten., David himself certainly does not lack a spirit of adventure; in fact, he left his job in 2007 in order to spend a month travelling. Second only to meeting and marrying his wife, David counts this as one of the most amazing experiences of his life.

Book Excerpt from Cross Roads
19 NovToday no interview, but a snippet instead! This time from a YA urban fantasy / action adventure book called “Cross Roads”. Enjoy!!
Book Excerpt
The next morning, Decker sat in his black sedan hidden by its tinted windows. The information he had received from the tablet led him to the Garden Way Hotel. The hotel was new in the city on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Decker held a camera in his hands like a photojournalist on assignment. He had taken pictures of everyone who had entered the hotel but only construction workers had entered.
Decker had been in place across from the hotel since dawn. Earlier that morning he had managed to place security cameras near the other entrances that fed directly into his computer. His laptop sat next to him in the passenger seat. Decker had views of the docking and loading area as well as the other entrances of the hotel. It was past eleven o’clock when Decker finally saw activity that interested him. A silver sedan pulled up in from of the hotel. The driver hurried out and opened the rear passenger door. The man who emerged from the backseat was tall, thin and had blonde hair that had been neatly combed back. He wore an expensive suit and a gray long coat. He looked to be in his late thirties and wore dark shades. Decker immediately recognized him and lowered the camera away from his face. His mouth gaped slightly.
“Linus.” he said aloud to himself as if to confirm what his eyes had just witnessed. He quickly raised the camera and rapidly took pictures. The driver led Linus inside. Decker made sure to get a picture of the car and
the plates as well. Decker was certain that whatever was going to happen would take place in this hotel and soon. He quickly turned his attention to his laptop and saw guards taking position at the entrances and securing the perimeter of the hotel.
Decker reached into his pocket and retrieved his cellphone. He hit a speed dial number and the phone picked up on the second ring. No one spoke on the other end. They didn’t have to.
“Confirmed. It’s Linus alright. The Garden Way Hotel.”
“Roger that. Over and out.” replied the deep male voice on the opposite end.
Decker disconnected the call. Now, like a predator hunting its prey, Decker would play the waiting game with his target until it was time to strike.

I wrote scripts for local and regional commercials, as well as, spec screen plays when I was in my twenties. Then I began writing again twenty five years later. I’ve been writing seriously for two and half years.

Character Interview I Am Ella. Buy Me. Tour
17 NovI’m hosting a character interview today for the book tour for chicklit / humor / romance novel “I am Ella. Buy Me.” I’m interviewing Peter Richards, one of the characters in the book.
Can you tell us a little about yourself?
Hello there. You’d like me to tell you all about me? My pleasure! My name is Peter Richards. I am Creative Director extraordinaire of CBA advertising agency in London’s Soho, where I am responsible for some of the best commercials this side of Madison Avenue. I’m sure you’re familiar with my work for a well-known brand of kettle descaler? If not I’d be happy to enlighten you. It may be the 80s. Britain may be in recession but I still drive a Porsche. If you fancy a spin, climb aboard. Let me check my Filofax – ah you’re in luck – I have a window tomorrow night. I guarantee it’ll be the ride of your life.
What is your role in the story?
Strictly entre-nous, Ella wanted me be to her love interest, and who can blame her, but frankly she’s not my type. The flat-chest and fat thighs don’t do it for me. Tom and Adam are welcome to her. She thinks I don’t know about her and Adam Hart. (He’s an ex-employee of mine. I had to fire him. He thought he was bigger than me. Big mistake.) I’ve seen the pair of them, canoodling over cake in Patisserie Valerie. Back to me and my role in the story. I provide the suave good looks and wit in the story. Handsome and hilarious, a rare combination. Think Mad Men. I am Don Draper to Ella’s Peggy.
What is your favorite hobby?
I’ll let you into a little secret. I have a wonderful singing voice. (I know, is there no end to my talents?) A producer for a big label was desperate to sign me but I said, ‘No, my calling is TV commercials.’ Music biz’s loss was Adland’s gain.
What is the challenge you’re trying to overcome during the story?
I am at the top of my game. I AM the challenge. And, every Monday morning, I have a long queue of leggy lovelies outside my office desperate to take me on.
If you could make one wish, what would it be?
That I never lose my essence. That special something that makes me, me. I don’t question it. I just accept that whatever it is keeps the hotties hot to trot.
Oh and I wish that Little-Shit-Steve-Winter would drown in a pool of his own effluent. Did I just say that? Don’t print that. No, actually do print it! Serves him right for trying to steal business from under my nose.
Oh is that it? No more questions about me? But I’ve got so much more to say. Look, here’s my card. Call me. I’d be delighted to chat some more over a bottle of Chablis. Caio for now.
