Character Interview for The Duchess Quest

2 Dec

duchessquestbanner

Today I’m hosting a character interview for the book tour for “The Duchess Quest”, a fantasy / romance novel. I’m interviewing Jon Cosmith, one of the characters in the book.

Character Interview

Character: Jon Cosmith
Can you tell us a little about yourself?
For starters, dear, you can call me Jon – all my friends do. And I’m certain you’ll wish to become quite friendly with me before your little interrogations are through. Ha… I digress. I may or may not be a Jordinian fugitive who abandoned my government… but who’s keeping track, anyway? More importantly, I’m surely the cleverest and best-looking suitor our young Duchess shall have the fortune of encountering along her journey.
What is your role in the story?

Ah, story. Aye, it’s recently been brought to my attention that, of all tales in which to be featured, mine is called The Duchess Quest. Truly? Could the author not have bestowed a more masculine-sounding title for the likes of me? Alas… To answer your question, pet, as I’ve no doubt you’re intensely curious about me, my role is to pursue the lovely Duchess Eludaine (among the other insufferable imbeciles competing for her hand), and secure the gold – er, I mean, the darling girl – for my very own.
What is your favorite hobby?

I’d not call them hobbies so much as skills, my dear. For example, you may not realize exactly how much practice is involved to perfect the art of taking things undetected. That’s stealing, you challenge me? Well then, answer me this: is taking from an utter fool, who neither notices nor deserves what’s missing, really stealing?
What is the challenge you’re trying to overcome during the story?

Ha! I daresay, my little interrogator, but you amuse me to no end. To put it bluntly, darling, nothing challenges me. I am the challenge.
If you could make one wish, what would it be?

Oh, I need not wish for anything, my sweet. Whatever I desire, believe me, I obtain. Anything is possible. It’s only a matter of time and strategy.

Author Bio

Personal Biography of Kathy Vassilakis

DSC00552Kathy Vassilakis used to work in the corporate world. She majored in accounting from Brooklyn College and followed her dream to work in corporate accounting for 15 years until she became a mom.

Being a mom was her dream all along and she left accounting to raise her beautiful daughter Sophia. She’s been writing stories for her daughter for quiet some time and decided to write her first children’s book of many to come I Woof You From The Bottom Of My Heart.

The idea to write this book came from my daughter and my dog. This book was written to show children how special a bond and friendship they can have with their dog. Dog’s are wonderful pets and love us unconditionally. They will protect and love us no matter what. Children deserve to learn that at a very young age and grow to love all animals. Compassion for animals is intimately connected with goodness of character.

Growing Up

I grew up in Brooklyn NY. I was the second child out of two. I have one sister named Joanne and always had animals. We had many dogs throughout my childhood from Pomeranians to Chows. I also had ducks, roosters, chickens, bunnies and many more animals. I was and still am a huge animal lover.

My love of books started when my mother used to read wonderful stories to my sister and me every night. She always tried to teach us both languages Greek and English. My parents were born and raised in Greece so Greek was their first language. Most of the stories she read to us were in Greek but that started my love for reading and writing. I learned both languages and am now fluent in writing and reading Greek which I am very proud of.

Family

I’ve been married now for five years and have one beautiful daughter. My daughter Sophia is 17 months old and she is my whole world. I also have a Japanese Chin named Bella. My husband, Greg, has always supported and believed in me, and my family will always be my inspiration.

Creating I Woof You From The Bottom Of My Heart

I have spent twenty years writing stories and brainstorming ideas for children’s books with my family. I came up with the characters Sophia and Bella after my own family. I was inspired by my daughter and the relationship she has with Bella and created I Woof You From The Bottom Of My Heart to teach children ho special a bond they can have with their dogs.

Compassion for animals is greatly connected to goodness of character this is the motto of the book. All animals deserve to be loved, respected, and treated right.

After a lot of hard work and many sleepless nights, I was finally able to publish my first book: I Woof You From The Bottom Of My Heart. To me, finally seeing my book in print and being able to share it with the public has made all the late nights and long hours worthwhile.

Charlie Brown

About the Authors

DonnaBrownDonna:  Donna is a longtime book lover and sometime book reviewer and has devoured books from an early age. She writes short (or long) stories as and when inspiration hits and is married to fantasy author David M. Brown (Fezariu’s Epiphany, A World Apart). She was also co-contributor to David’s book, Man vs Cat, a humorous look at life with six rambunctious rescue cats.

Donna has lived in many different areas of the UK over the last 30-something years but has remained in Yorkshire for the past decade. She ardently disputes the misnomer that ‘It’s grim up north’. DavidBrownDavid:  David Brown could be considered a fantasy fanatic, especially since he has spent the last 10 years developing a 47,000-year history for his fictional world of Elenchera. When converting his obsession into literary form, David commits himself to a rigorous writing and editing process before his work can meet his approval. Combined with the critical eye of his wife and a BA Hons in History and English, David’s dedication leads him to his goal of inspiring readers through heartfelt stories and characters.

Although David is inspired primarily by fantasy fiction, he also finds his muse in the form of anime, world cinema, history, and biographies. His own books, Fezariu’s Epiphany and A World Apart, combine aspects from worlds both old and new into compelling tales of a world not soon forgotten., David himself certainly does not lack a spirit of adventure; in fact, he left his job in 2007 in order to spend a month travelling. Second only to meeting and marrying his wife, David counts this as one of the most amazing experiences of his life.

Character Interview Omega in the Shadows

23 Nov
omegashadowsbanner
I’m interviewing Elijah Kane today, one of the characters of gay / shifter / paranormal romance “Omega in the Shadows”. Enjoy!
Can you tell us a little about yourself? Who are you? What is your role in the story?
I’m Elijah Kane, infamous assassin and sexy as hell wolf shifter. My role is to break in that damn alpha, Rowan Gregor, and convince him he’s my mate. Problem is he’s all ‘but I’m not gay!’ Yeah. I don’t buy that for a second. His eyes are all over me, and I can’t blame him.
What is your favorite hobby?
Does killing assholes who deserve it count? I’m an assassin. What did you think my hobby would be? Macramé?
What is the challenge you’re trying to overcome during this story?
For one, Rowan doesn’t give in like I planned. He’s got a lot of fight in him. Also, there may have been an issue with some hunters and one of my well laid plans going to shit, but I’m not about to take all the blame for that one. Also, the ex-from-hell shows up. I don’t want to go there. . . .

If you could make one wish, what would it be?
For my brother. I wish I protected him when we were kids. Things wouldn’t have turned out like this if I had.
Tell us a secret about you.
I don’t like beer. Rowan does, so I don’t say anything about it.

Character Interview A Bridge Through Time

21 Nov

bridgetimebanner

Today I’m interviewing one of the main characters of time travel romance “A Bridge Through Time”, Ashley Moore. I hope you all enjoy the interview!

Can you tell us a little about yourself?

Of course, but first I’d like to thank you for having me here.  My name is Ashley Moore and I was born and raised in San Francisco, California.  I’ve always been a bit of a homebody, but lately I’ve been trying to step outside of my comfort zone.  I love horses.  My mother signed me up for lessons when I was quite young and it’s been a lifelong love affair ever since.  My friends will tell you, I’m a bit of a chatterbox and I guess it’s true.  I do tend to ramble, especially when I’m nervous.  I love children and was a teacher for a little while.
What is your role in the story?
As the main character in A Bridge Through Time,  I’m in search of  a grey eyed stranger, and that search leads me to Scotland where I end up in the sixteenth century.  I meet some amazing people along the way – some good and some bad.   I have quite the adventure.

What is your favorite hobby?

As I mentioned before,  I love horseback riding, but I also enjoy all kinds of crafty things.   I like to sew, knit, glue things together…  just about any craft you can think of, I’ve tried.

What is the challenge you’re trying to overcome during the story?

I’m learning to be brave, to try new things and to trust enough to give love another chance.   You see, my life wasn’t going the way I had imagined it would.  I was dumped by the only guy I’d ever loved, I lost my job and my apartment.  I just had to pick myself up and do something about it, especially after I started seeing a very handsome Highlander everywhere I went.  I didn’t know who he was or why I was seeing him, especially when no one else could.  I had to do something about it.  I had to prove to myself that I wasn’t losing my mind.  Also, I wanted a chance at a new life.  One filled with love and family.

If you could make one wish, what would it be?

That’s a tough one.  I feel like all of my wishes have already come true,  except one.  I’d really like to see my friend Jenna again.

Cailin MacBayne is no stranger to beautiful women, but has always managed to stay one step ahead of commitment.  That all comes to an end when he meets Ashley.  He doesn’t care where this beautiful, yet unusual lass came from, he’s just happy to have found her.  Ashley cannot resist the handsome Scot and finds herself falling hopelessly in love.  In the process, a secret is revealed, a battle is waged and Ashley must ultimately decide whether to return to her own time or give up her 21st century life to stay with the love she has found in the past.

Book Excerpt from Cross Roads

19 Nov

crossroadsbanner

Today no interview, but a snippet instead! This time from a YA urban fantasy / action adventure book called “Cross Roads”. Enjoy!!

Book Excerpt

The next morning, Decker sat in his black sedan hidden by its tinted windows. The information he had received from the tablet led him to the Garden Way Hotel. The hotel was new in the city on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Decker held a camera in his hands like a photojournalist on assignment. He had taken pictures of everyone who had entered the hotel but only construction workers had entered.

Decker had been in place across from the hotel since dawn. Earlier that morning he had managed to place security cameras near the other entrances that fed directly into his computer. His laptop sat next to him in the passenger seat. Decker had views of the docking and loading area as well as the other entrances of the hotel. It was past eleven o’clock when Decker finally saw activity that interested him. A silver sedan pulled up in from of the hotel. The driver hurried out and opened the rear passenger door. The man who emerged from the backseat was tall, thin and had blonde hair that had been neatly combed back. He wore an expensive suit and a gray long coat. He looked to be in his late thirties and wore dark shades. Decker immediately recognized him and lowered the camera away from his face. His mouth gaped slightly.

“Linus.” he said aloud to himself as if to confirm what his eyes had just witnessed. He quickly raised the camera and rapidly took pictures. The driver led Linus inside. Decker made sure to get a picture of the car and

the plates as well. Decker was certain that whatever was going to happen would take place in this hotel and soon. He quickly turned his attention to his laptop and saw guards taking position at the entrances and securing the perimeter of the hotel.

Decker reached into his pocket and retrieved his cellphone. He hit a speed dial number and the phone picked up on the second ring. No one spoke on the other end. They didn’t have to.

“Confirmed. It’s Linus alright. The Garden Way Hotel.”

“Roger that. Over and out.” replied the deep male voice on the opposite end.

Decker disconnected the call. Now, like a predator hunting its prey, Decker would play the waiting game with his target until it was time to strike.

Author Interview Kristin’s Ghost Tour

18 Nov

kristingsghostbanner

Today I’m hosting an interview for the tour for MG paranormal adventure “Kristin’s Ghost” by Wayne A.D. Kerr. Welcome to the author, and thanks for taking the time to reply to my questions.

1.) First, tell us about yourself- where you live, your family and those sorts of details.

I was born in Canada, the oldest of six children.  I married my high school sweetheart, Marlene, and we have one daughter, Jackie.  Our family moved to Minneapolis eighteen years ago.  Then twelve years later my wife and I moved to Green Valley, Arizona where we still reside.

2.) When did you start writing?

I wrote scripts for local and regional commercials, as well as, spec screen plays when I was in my twenties.  Then I began writing again twenty five years later.  I’ve been writing seriously for two and half years.

3.)Do you have a favorite place to write?

I get up very early and settle into my favorite easy chair with my laptop.  I write for three to four hours and then have some breakfast, before going for a run, a bike ride or to play tennis.

4.)Why did you decide to write the X+Y Files, in particular Kristin’s Ghost?

I was inspired to write a science fiction/paranormal style series for kids by my nephews.  Everyone likes a ghost story.

5.)Do you proofread/edit your own books or do you get someone else to do that for you?

I make a lot of mistakes while writing, so I do a preliminary proof of everything before I send it to an editor.  My wife and brother also check my work.

6.)Tell us what you’re working on at the moment.

I’m currently working on an adult novel, and planning the next ‘X + Y Files’ adventure.

Character Interview I Am Ella. Buy Me. Tour

17 Nov

iamellabanner

I’m hosting a character interview today for the book tour for chicklit / humor / romance novel “I am Ella. Buy Me.” I’m interviewing Peter Richards, one of the characters in the book.

Can you tell us a little about yourself?

Hello there. You’d like me to tell you all about me? My pleasure! My name is Peter Richards. I am Creative Director extraordinaire of CBA advertising agency in London’s Soho, where I am responsible for some of the best commercials this side of Madison Avenue. I’m sure you’re familiar with my work for a well-known brand of kettle descaler? If not I’d be happy to enlighten you. It may be the 80s. Britain may be in recession but I still drive a Porsche. If you fancy a spin, climb aboard. Let me check my Filofax – ah you’re in luck – I have a window tomorrow night. I guarantee it’ll be the ride of your life.

What is your role in the story?

Strictly entre-nous, Ella wanted me be to her love interest, and who can blame her, but frankly she’s not my type. The flat-chest and fat thighs don’t do it for me. Tom and Adam are welcome to her. She thinks I don’t know about her and Adam Hart. (He’s an ex-employee of mine. I had to fire him. He thought he was bigger than me. Big mistake.) I’ve seen the pair of them, canoodling over cake in Patisserie Valerie. Back to me and my role in the story. I provide the suave good looks and wit in the story. Handsome and hilarious, a rare combination. Think Mad Men. I am Don Draper to Ella’s Peggy.

What is your favorite hobby?

I’ll let you into a little secret. I have a wonderful singing voice. (I know, is there no end to my talents?) A producer for a big label was desperate to sign me but I said, ‘No, my calling is TV commercials.’ Music biz’s loss was Adland’s gain.

What is the challenge you’re trying to overcome during the story?

I am at the top of my game. I AM the challenge. And, every Monday morning, I have a long queue of leggy lovelies outside my office desperate to take me on.

If you could make one wish, what would it be?

That I never lose my essence. That special something that makes me, me. I don’t question it. I just accept that whatever it is keeps the hotties hot to trot.

Oh and I wish that Little-Shit-Steve-Winter would drown in a pool of his own effluent. Did I just say that? Don’t print that. No, actually do print it! Serves him right for trying to steal business from under my nose.

Oh is that it? No more questions about me? But I’ve got so much more to say. Look, here’s my card. Call me. I’d be delighted to chat some more over a bottle of Chablis. Caio for now.

I AM ELLA. BUY ME

‘I am a ginger tom. I am a boy racer. I am a housewife. I am a pain in the arse.’

Ella David is Bridget Jones meets Peggy from Mad Men.

Working in Soho’s mad, bad Adland in the sexist 80s, Ella is a rare beast – a woman in a man’s world, dodging her sleazy boss, Peter.

Based on Joan’s experiences in Soho’s mad, bad Adland, this fast-paced, funny tale is set against a backdrop of Thatcher’s Britain when money trumps morals
and lust is a must. Thankfully, Ella knows love is more powerful but can two unlikely friendships help her go from a girl in the firing line to a woman calling the shots?
